AGE DIVISIONS - 2024 SEASON


U7 (COED) - TYKES

AGES 5-6 (BIRTH YEAR: 2018-2019)

The U7 program is played 3 on 3 with half court games and skill sessions every Monday/Wednesday throughout the regular season (April-end of June). In line with Active Start principles developed by the Canadian Lacrosse Association (CLA) to promote Lacrosse for Life play, cross zone games will be incorporated into the format to introduce participants to competition. No contact at this age level. U7 participants play with a smaller "Rage Cage" net and low impact lacrosse balls. Required equipment includes: lacrosse stick, helmet, gloves, jock/jill, mouth guard, knee pads optional. Registration fee includes floor time for practices and games and year end jamboree on a weekend day in June. 

 

U9 (COED) - TYKES

AGES 7-8 (BIRTH YEAR: 2016-2017)

The U9 program is played 3 on 3 with half court games and skill sessions every Monday/Wednesday throughout the regular season (April-end of June). In line with FUNdamental 1 principles developed by the CLA to promote Lacrosse for Life play, cross zone games will be incorporated into the format to introduce participants to competition. U11 (COED) - NOVICE

AGES 9-10 (BIRTH YEAR: 2014-2015)

The U11 age group for box lacrosse is the first introduction to modified contact at the second stage of FUNdamental 2 long-term athlete development plan. Additional equipment required for contact are shoulder pads, kidney pads and arm slash guards. The U11 game is played full court, with 5 runners and a goalie. Registration fee includes floor time rental for practices and games, portion of league operating costs, playoffs, etc. Tournament fees, team related activities/purchases not included with registration and is the responsibility of the team. The U11 age division plays/practices on Tuesday/Thursdays evenings (April-end of June) with the occasional weekend game or practice. 

 

 

U13 (COED) - PEEWEE

AGES 11-12 (BIRTH YEAR: 2012-2013)

In the U13 age group, participants should be learning and developing more skills and strategies for game play. This is in line with the CLA's Learning to Train programming. The number of teams is determined by the number of players registered; each team will be created equal in strength, skill and ability to optimize competitive game play with other zones. Registration fee include floor time rental for practices and games, portion of league operating costs, playoffs, etc. Tournament fees, team related activities/purchases are not included with registration and is the responsibility of the team. The U13 division plays/practices on Tuesday/Thursday evenings (April-end of June) with the occasional weekend game or practice. 

 

 

U15 (COED) - BANTAM

AGES 13-14 (BIRTH YEAR: 2010-2011)

The U15 age group follows the first phase of Training to Train 1 under the CLA's long term athlete development plan. Here, each participant will expand their skillset and game strategy for a more competitive box environment. The number of teams is determined by the number of players registered; each team will be created equal in strength, skill and ability to optimize competitive game play with other zones. Registration fee includes floor time rental for practices and games, portion of league operating costs, playoffs, etc. Tournament fees, team related activities/purchases are not included with registration and is the responsibility of the team. The U15 division plays/practices on Monday/Wednesday evenings (April-end of June) with the occasional weekend game or practice. 

 

 

U17 (COED) - MIDGET

AGES 15-16 (BIRTH YEAR: 2008-2009)

The U17 age group follows the second phase of Training to Train 2 under the CLA's long term athlete development plan. Each U17 participant will further expand their skillset and ability and game strategy, creating a fast paced, explosive amount of competition. The number of teams is determined by the number of players registered; each team will be created equal in strength, skill and ability to optimize competitive game play with other zones. Registration fee includes floor time rental for practices and games, portion of league operating costs, playoffs, etc. Tournament fees, team related activities/expenses are not included with registration and is the responsibility of the team. The U17 division plays/practices on Monday/Wednesday evenings (April-end of June) with the occasional weekend game or practice.
